TFedge speaks his mind . . .
sometimes unencumbered by the thought process.

No one ever accused me of not having an opinion or not speaking my mind. Over the years I've written hundreds of reviews, answered questions, and written papers. These have been scattered all over the Internet. The Tfedge Review page collects as many of these as I can find into one easy to use webpage.

When I write these reviews I try to be consistent with the values I've learned over the last fifty plus years. Frankly, I'm a little surprised to find myself in my mid-50s. It went by so fast. Having said that, I'm glad it's gone. I wouldn't go back to a younger age for anything in the world.

What's really great about getting older is that you start to realize what is really important and have learned to ignore the things that aren't. Thoreau's line about men lead lives of quiet desperation is pretty accurate except these days people aren't that quiet about it.

I've learned that things are always subject to failure and that leads to disappointment so it's better not to value things. I've learned the really important things in life really are free but you have to learn to slow down and enjoy them.

I've learned too, that despite my best intentions it easy to get caught up in the day-to-day life. When that happens find someone you live and give them a big hug.

Who is Tfedge anyway?

Brief Bio

Tfedge (that's me) is a Baby Boomer, a male, educated far beyond what any rational person should be.

When most people my age were getting married and having kids tfedge continued going to college. I was not motivated by career development or money, but I love learning things. And I love teaching people.

Since my early day's I've loved writing. My publication credits are all non-fiction, but I'm a closet mystery novelist.

Education

I studied ancient history, philosophy, and classical studies. I still love going to school and taking classes. Every few years I go back for more. I'm pushing toward 1,000 college hours scattered among a host of colleges and universities.

Interests

I love books most of all. But theatre isn't far behind, expecially Shakespeare. I love movies, too. Good movies that is with good characterization and plot. Special effects don't affect me at all except to bore me. I like music, mostly jazz, female vocalists, classical music and oldies rock and role. I like puzzles and I'm a wiz at Jeopardy.

Work Experience

I don't define myself by my work. I've worked in a wide variety of jobs. I began writing computer programs in 1970 and have never strayed too far from computers. I've managed offices and worked as a consultant. I currently work parttime as a bookkeeper. This is in part because I like numbers (and need the money) but also because I love the word "bookkeeper" with its unique arrangement of three double letters in a row.
