“Eyes Wide Shut” is a sensuous, erotic, scary movie. It is the story of a New York couple the Harfords and their sexual experiences over a couple of days. Mrs. Harford admits a desire to have an affair the previous year and experiences sexual fantasies about the man throughout the movie. Dr. Harford draws women like flies to cow flop and finds himself in a world of strange sexual experiences in a country house where men wear capes and masks while beautiful, well-built women wear masks and G-strings.

I’ve long thought that Nicole Kidman was one of the most sensual actors performing today, not just because of her great looks, but because she displays her emotions and feelings so quickly and naturally when she acts. In the role Alice Harford she plays a woman struggling between her sexual desires, her role as a mother, and her role as a loyal wife to her husband Dr. William Harford, played by Kidman’s then real-life husband Tom Cruise. With apologies to Anita Loos, when Nicole Kidman has her glasses on I definitely would make a pass at her, or at least wish I had the nerve to do so. She is beautiful and sexy and believable as the wife of a fancy pants doctor in Manhattan.
